Maximize Your Wardrobe: How to Style Summer Dresses in Winter

It’s that time of the year when you don’t feel like buying anymore winter clothes but are getting bored with you wardrobe! I have some short-sleeved dresses and tunic dresses that I love to wear so much. Since most of these dresses are knee-length or shorter, they pair well with leggings! And we all know I love wearing leggings in the winter!

Today, I’m sharing some style tips that will easily help you wear your warmer weather dresses throughout the colder months and really maximize your wardrobe! You most likely already have many of these kinds of pieces.

Amazon Tunic Dress

How CUTE is this mini swing dress?! It has become one of my fave layering pieces! While you may be able to get away with short sleeves and leggings in some climates, I can’t really do that where I live (unless it’s a milder winter day). However, the hat and boots definitely add some winter to this dress! (Tip: Try not to choose a summer dress with super summery print, such as bright flowers. It won’t work in winter.)

This is my FAVORITE way to wear this dress in colder temps. Just make sure if you add a pullover sweater, you keep it short like this one or even cropped!

Add a boyfriend-length cardigan, so that it’s almost the same length as the dress! (I got this cardigan during the Nordstrom Sale over the summer, and it is still available in in a few sizes. I linked similar styles below!)

Obviously I took this next photo in the fall when it wasn’t super cold, but I do realize some of you live in warmer climates! This denim jacket is my all-time fave because I love the light wash and the softness of the denim! I can’t believe it’s from Target!

Toss it over your dress and add some crisp, white sneakers (and of course, leggings)!

This dress is soooo comfortable, as is everything from Z Supply! It’s a really high-quality, legit brand. They make tons of comfy loungewear and basics!

Since the dress is almost babydoll-stye and a basic solid color, add a fun printed cardigan! Just make sure it’s short or cropped. Top off the look with some gold jewelry and a color-coordinated headband!
