From Flatlay to Real Way (Vol.1)
Introducing my new ongoing series, “From Flatlay to Real Way!” A lot of outfit ideas pop into my head at all times of the day. I thought it would be fun to photograph those ideas in flatlay form and then try them out the real way! Today, I’ve brought two theoretical spring and summer outfits to life, featuring a pair of ruffle shorts and my favorite cropped jeans! The jeans are on sale BOGO 50% off!

When I first saw these two separate pieces, I just knew I had to do a little print-mixing! It works here because the prints are almost identical and have a similar color scheme. If the print on the top was horizontal like the one on the ruffle shorts, I would not have mixed these two. I think it would have been overkill and too matchy-matchy.
I modified the look a tiny bit from the flatlay, but the main items are still there!
*The top may be temporarily out of stock, so I have linked some red tops above that would also look killer with the ruffle shorts!

This fringe top is my favorite color! The top is almost like a sweater, but it’s super light and airy. I recently found it at a local boutique, and while the brand (Maven West) is sold online, I cannot find this exact top. This one has a similar aesthetic, though!
I used my favorite pair of jeans for this spring outfit! They are only $29 and currently buy one, get one 50% off!

Well Jackie, I love this segment! It’s so neat to actually see these outfits on! Most people never show the stuff on so your like ummmm what is that shirt actually going look like on! LOL
Can’t wait for more of these! 🙂
Haha! Thanks, Meli! You are so right!! It is fun to photograph outfits, but like you said, what’s good in theory may not always be good in actuality! Thanks for stopping by!
I LOVE the red print with the ruffle shorts! That top would be a fav of mine too! I love anything “handkerchief print” which is very similar to the top. Wish I could wear the shorts, but I’m just getting too old for those. Still loving the look on you!
Thank you so much! When I bought them, I asked the girl working the checkout line what she thought of the combo, and she wasn’t sure at first. I knew I loved it, but I just wanted to see what she would say. So I am very glad to hear you love the combo! I am pretty sure you could still rock those shorts! They are not too short at all. They may look short on me because I have the longest legs and am 5’10” (wearing size 4). I definitely wouldn’t count them out! I really appreciate your kind words. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Linda! Thank you so much! You can start off by slowly sprinkling in fashion posts. I don’t really have any specific tips except wear what you love and be confident!
