Dr. Josef Götz (1774-1839) was born in the spa town of Bad Ischl, Austria, and he was a medical pioneer. After researching for many years, Götz found that Bad Ischl spring water had a miraculous effect on the skin.
In 1823, he and Austrian royal physician Franz von Wirer co-developed the first health salon in Bad Ischl and continued to develop personalized skin care products using Bad Ischl spring water. A member of historic Austrian Royalty, Archduke Rudolf, cured himself of ongoing skin illnesses in the Bad Ischl spa, and news of the spring water spread like crazy across Europe! Europeans dubbed the spring water “Godly water.” Umm yea…I’ll take some of that!!

The package is clean and simple, just like its contents, and the pump is key! It distributes the perfect pea-sized amount of lotion, which is the amount you need each morning and night.
The formula is super silky and light, and it’s fragrance-free (yay!). It absorbs almost immediately into my skin. (I like to apply it directly after my toner, while my skin is still damp, and top it with my usual moisturizer.) You can even see how light the lotion is in the image below, because it quickly unfolded from its pea-shaped drop as I took the photo.
My skin feels soft and smooth upon applying the lotion, and I have not had to reapply powder at all throughout the day! I used to have issues with my t-zone, but I haven’t had any since using the GÖTZ Bad Ischl lotion, even though the temperatures have been rising here on the east coast. And in the summer, I think I will forgo adding moisturizer on top of the GÖTZ Bad Ischl. (If you plan to be out in the sun, make sure to top the lotion with SPF!)
As for my redness, I definitely notice my mild rosacea less (ahh the joys of hormone changes after having children), and the pores in my t-zone seem less visible. I have even gotten compliments on my makeup! So of course, I have to give GÖTZ credit for that.

I really like the sound of this. I have some redness too which is a lot more noticeable when the weather gets warmer.
