Highly Pigmented Waterproof Lipstick
No one wants to spend time applying lip color only to have it smear off moments later on a Venti PSL. Your coffee lid’s spout doesn’t need any decoration! City Color Cosmetics has a line of highly pigmented waterproof lipstick, and here’s their motto: “Don’t be THAT girl. Be Smudge Proof with Be Matte Liquid Lipstick!”
City Color’s shades range from nude to berry, so they’ve got a hue for every season and skin tone. I’ll be reviewing a nude shade today!

This highly pigmented waterproof lipstick comes in 8 beautiful shades. From left to right:
A/S/L: Cool Toned Nude
No Duh!: Dusty Pink
Kewl: Muted Mauve Pink
Crunk: Brick Redish Brown
Oh Snap!: Warm Red
Talk to the Hand: Orange Red
As If!: Bright Hot Pink
Homeslice: Plum Purple
I love the spectrum City Color provides (and how fun are the names?!). I feel like nudes always complement my skin tone, so I chose A/S/L, but I’m interested in trying the deeper shades for the winter months.

The hourglass applicator definitely makes it easy for me to apply the color. The wand is slightly more flexible than other wand applicators, in my opinion, which I think makes it easier to cover hard-to-reach places.
The color slides on pretty smoothly and quickly dries to a matte finish. As it’s drying, it’s slightly sticky, but it really doesn’t bother me and isn’t in the sticky stage for very long. As far as matte formulas go, I don’t feel that this one is drying at all, although I am used to cream colors and glosses.
My lips carry the nude hue for most of the day, even without reapplying, which is probably due to the fact that it is highly pigmented. The formula is definitely smudge proof and waterproof, and leaves barely any residue on cups, napkins, and the like. However, I prefer reapplying throughout the day to keep my lips looking their best.
I have tried other matte formulas, such as LipSense, and I would say City Color Cosmetics Be Matte performs better. It’s way easier to apply and looks just as good, if not better. I’m totally not THAT girl!! Plus, the price is totally right at $8.99!!
You can find City Color at stores such as Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, Walgreens, TJ Maxx, Five Below, Rite Aid, Sam’s Club, Rainbow, Zulily, and online at City Color Cosmetics.
That’s what’s up in beauty. What do you think of the nude shade? Which color of this waterproof lipstick would you try first? Let me know!
