How to Layer Necklaces Effortlessly

Don’t get me wrong.  The following baubles look amazing on their own.  But I think layering necklaces is fun and really enables each to shine! Today, I’m sharing how I’m layering my favorite Lagos pieces this fall!  I hope this post makes you want to run to your jewelry stash and start laying out combinations! Here are my tips on how to layer necklaces effortlessly.

[wc_heading title=”Invest in necklaces that can be worn long or doubled-up.” type=”h2″ margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” text_align=”center” font_size=”” color=”” icon_left=”” icon_right=”” icon_spacing=”” class=””]

The elegant strand necklace I’m wearing makes layering effortless because it can look like it’s two necklaces!  Seriously, how easy is that?!  One and done for a simple layered look!

Plus, I chose a neutral color that pairs well with yellow or white gold or silver and pretty much any color gem!.  You can achieve the layered look in a hurry with just this one strand necklace, or you can easily add another.

I suggest a shorter necklace of a different type to add intrigue.  The strand necklace is technically long, so a shorter necklace pairs well.    I chose this 16 inch North Star Diamond Pendant Necklace because it falls below the top strand of the Caviar necklace when it’s doubled up.

But the pendant necklace also looks beautiful with the strand necklace when I wear it long, because the pendant hits right above the neckline of my top. You’ll notice me wearing it both ways throughout the post.

The diamonds shine even more when next to the sheen of the dark semiprecious stones.  And the varying materials in the necklaces create intriguing texture!  However, I have seen many layered looks out there with similar chains and pendants that also look stylish and eye-catching.  So just use your best judgment.  If you feel confident, I say go for it!

The more the merrier.  Don’t stop at necklaces!  Be sure to add earrings and at least one bracelet unless you were ambitious and layered 5 or more necklaces!  In that case, think like Coco Chanel and take one accessory off before leaving the house.

There really are no rules except to have fun!!  If you feel confident and stylish, then GO FOR IT!  These are just some guidelines to get you started layering necklaces.

I love the layered necklace look, but rarely try to pull it off myself. You’ve inspired me to give it a try! Also love the link bracelet.
