Hey, everyone! A couple of Saturdays ago, I spent the day doing my usual mom duties. But in the evening, I had an early dinner day with my husband. Since I am totally always about fashion and function, I wanted to share the two casual chic summer outfits I wore that day. You can look cute and still be comfortable, all while keeping your wallet intact. Shop my looks throughout the post!

Now, guys. This is a HIGHLY functional casual chic summer outfit. I hope you’re not offended by my level of casualness, but I just cannot get anything done even if I am remotely thinking about how uncomfortable I am. I don’t care if it is a cami riding up, a bra strap bothering me, or shoes that hinder my usual gait by just a margin, I cannot have ANY of it. That’s why you don’t see me in heels very much. I try to make more comfortable shoes look chic and just own it.
Here is my day outfit. Both the top and the shorts are from Target. Target has really stepped up in the fashion department!! (Side note: My hair is a little too functional in the daytime photos… Don’t mind it.)

We went to dinner at a bistro and dined al fresco under a canopy. The temperature was not too hot, and I wanted to wear this sparkly Free People tunic I found at Marshalls. I’m really tall, and if I had put shorts underneath, you wouldn’t have been able to see them, and I didn’t want fellow diners thinking I looked too risqué!
So to vibe with the boho nature of the top, I slipped on some patchwork flares by my favorite denim brand. (I got the jeans on sale during the Nordstrom Semi-Annual Sale!) I added my fave comfy, chunky wedges, and topped the look off with a patent-leather bag. This look is definitely casual chic with a boho edge.
That’s what’s up on this WW. I really enjoy creating unique outfits by piecing together multiple items from my existing wardrobe. It saves money, and it’s fun! Let me know which of these looks you would wear in the comments below! xo
