Style Tip Tuesday: How I Wear Brown Booties

Welcome to a new Style Tip Tuesday!  I know you are all probably eager to replace your close-toed shoes with sandals and flip flops, but summer is not here just yet!  When I’m not sporting my usual Converse, I cover my feet with my favorite brown booties.  I love wearing them in the spring because I can get away with wearing lighter clothes and not freeze.  When your feet are cold, so is the rest of your body!  In this post, I am sharing how I wear brown booties in the springtime!

Before we get started with the outfits, here are the booties.  They are the most flexible, comfortable, non-sneaker I have ever worn, and I highly recommend them.  I am wearing a narrow, but that’s not because these booties run wide.  I just have super narrow feet!  And I chose brown instead of black because I feel like it’s more casual and versatile.  I have very casual style at the moment!

When I wear booties with a dress or skirt, I just feel so much more unique (and a little edgy).  I could head to a nice dinner or a music festival and feel cute in either situation.  Of course I could have opted for wedges or block heels with this eyelet dress, but I feel as though the brown booties are so unexpected!  Plus, they put the exclamation point on my mildly boho aesthetic.

The same goes for this tulle skirt.  I could have gone with black strappy heels and dressier accessories.  I actually might still do that with this same outfit if I end up on my way to somewhere a little more formal.  That would actually be a really sweet and chic ensemble!  But for casual me, the booties are a no-brainer.

Skinny jeans might be the obvious choice, but it’s a choice I can’t ignore.  And again, I could have paired heels or wedges with the below outfits, but I would not have been as comfortable (and my feet might have been a little cold)!

The skinnies below are cropped, and the great thing about booties is that the length of your jeans or pants (or skirt or shorts for that matter) does not matter!

I do think that booties with a little more of a heel might look better with cropped jeans, especially if you are not that tall.  But since I am about 5’10”, I think the flats work well here.  And just a side note:  These are THE most comfortable jeans EVER!  I definitely splurged on them, but it was worth it.  They are so soft and they sit perfectly on my waist.  I cannot say enough good about them!  It would have been a crime to leave them on the rack.
