New Year’s Eve Outfit Created with Everything Old

Happy New Year!  I hope your 2017 is off to a wonderful start and that it brings you health, happiness, and success.

We went to kid-friendly a New Year’s Eve party, and while I wanted to look cute, my outfit had to be super functional.  I struggle taking care of toddlers in heels since I basically struggle to actually walk in the heels.  And I didn’t want to  compromise my ability to bend over or stoop down by wearing a party dress.  And…since I had no time to shop for a new outfit (even though I desperately wanted to), I created a New Year’s Eve outfit made of everything old.  One piece is even 10 years old!!!New Year's Eve Outfit Created With Everything Old- pin

New Year's Eve Outfit Made of Everything Old

My husband gave me this Emporio Armani skirt 10 years ago!!  He had to go to Las Vegas for work, and he did a little shopping while he was there.  I haven’t worn the skirt in many years, but it kept calling my name from my closet.  I am so glad I kept it, because it came back in style!

I feel that this look was the perfect choice for my New Year’s Eve outfit.  It’s cute and has a light and fun personality, but it’s functional enough for me to bounce around with my young kids.

Thank you! Not having time to shop forces you to be creative and actually use things in your closet haha. Your new site looks great, by the way! Xo

Jackie you are so witty when it comes to pairing, matching, rewearing, and restyling old outfits. You always manage to come up with the best ideas andddd I love the idea of taking old things and turning it into something new- you’re inspiring and it totally saves my wallet a ton!!!

You are too sweet, Jenny! I swear, when I haven’t done (my) laundry in a while, and I haven’t had time to shop, I get more creative. Also, it is good to hold onto statement pieces like the skirt. I probably wouldn’t have touched it a few years back! xoxo
