Perfect Pout: Product Review

One of the many great things about Sephora is that when you order online, you get free samples with every purchase.  I chose this Perfect Pout Lip Mask and Balm Duo by Kaplan MD as one of my three freebies.  It promises to smooth and plump up your lips almost immediately.  Now, plumping is pretty much the last thing my lips need, but they need to be cared for, just like skin, so I decided to give this a try.

I am going to walk you through the 5 minutes my lips spent at the spa…

Before, with nothing on them.
Dum de dum dum…

All done.

PerfectPout- BandA
Here are the details.  I could really feel the papaya enzymes tingling during the treatment. It felt nice!  And the balm lasted for many hours (I could still feel it on my lips even after eating an apple!), but the downside is that it had a plasticky taste- rather unpleasant.  And and I encountered the taste many times, since the balm stayed put for so long.  Also, my lips look and feel smoother, but more plump?  I really cannot tell.  What do you think??

Bottom line:  Would I purchase this product?  Most likely not.  But perhaps someone with thinner lips could benefit from it, especially if you think it plumped my lips.  Also, the mask promises to reduce fine lines on the lips and wrinkles around the mouth, which is appealing to me, so maybe I would go for the mask some time in the future, or maybe I would benefit more from this treatment in the winter when my lips are really dry, but I am not so sure I would use the balm portion again- I can’t get past the taste.  I can get my SPF 20 (which is very important) elsewhere.

That’s what’s up today.  Have you guys tried this product or any similar ones?  I would love your input.  Thanks!
