In-Shower Lotion Face-off

Have you ever been pressed for time after your shower, not having a chance to moisturize your skin?  If you’re like me, that happens way too often, but you just hate walking around with crocodile skin all day.  There is a solution: in- shower body lotion.  Yes, you still have to take some time to apply it, but only half the time of regular body lotion (or less). Here is why:

  • In-shower lotion is practically fool-proof. You basically just slap in on- not much rubbing in required.
  • Because your skin is wet, application is much easier.
  • You do have to rinse it off, but only slightly- a matter of 5-10 seconds.
  • It does not seem that there are many brands that offer in-shower lotion.  The three that I know of are Olay, Jergens, and Nivea.  I’m going to tell you about the Olay and Jergens versions.

I have been a fan of the Olay in-shower lotion since it is the first one I tried and because I have used their regular body lotion for years.  Their standard lotion moisturizes my skin, which can be dry at times, the best.  Plus I have always loved the fragrance.  The same is true for their in-shower lotion!  The moisture lasts all day, it does the job comparably to their standard lotion, and it smells great!  However, it can be hard to find in stores.  I often have luck at Walmart, but when I couldn’t find it, I tried Jergens.  I was taking a big risk when I purchased it in a two-pack at Target.  I ended up using one of the bottles, but the other is just resting under my sink while Olay gets to see the light of day.  Jergens didn’t moisturize nearly as well.  It was almost a complete waste of my time, but using it was better than using none at all.  Also, it had more of a lotion smell, reminiscent of plastic.

So hands down, Olay is my choice.  I recently purchased a box of 4 from Amazon since I couldn’t locate it in a store.  You should definitely give it a try if you haven’t already, and please let me know if you have had luck with brands that aren’t on my radar.  I’m not quite sure why Bath and Body Works doesn’t carry one, but it’s no big deal, because Olay is amazing!

That’s what’s up in skincare today.  I hope I helped you decrease your showering routine so you can spend more time on fun activities like applying makeup and drinking coffee. ?alarm clock

We didn’t like the Jergens either which is surprising because we LOVE their lotion! We didn’t even know Olay made one! Definitely going to try it!
