Because I have two little ones at home, I have to do a lot of my shopping online. I buy the bulk of my goods from online stores such as Amazon, Macy’s, Kohl’s, and cosmetics stores like Sephora. However, I don’t just visit each site and start piling items into my cart. I first visit a website called Ebates. If you don’t know about this yet, I promise you online shopping will never be the same again!
All you have to do is create a free account, sign in, click on the store you would like to browse, and shop like normal. Why do this? Ebates offers cash back just for using their site as a portal to your store of choice. And they offer special deals! For example, right now, if I were to order something from Macy’s via my Ebates account, I would get 6 percent cash back on my purchase. Some stores offer more, some offer less. But if you are planning on buying something expensive, 6 percent adds up to a lot of cash! I have been using Ebates for about a year, and I have received almost $300 in cash back from purchases. That is $300 I wouldn’t have if I had just shopped online without going through Ebates. How do you receive the cash? Ebates sends you a check in the mail every few months, and all you have to do take it over to the bank and cash (or deposit) it! It is that simple. And remember, every penny counts!
So next time you are going to buy something online, do yourself a favor and set up an Ebates account. They have almost 2,000 stores to choose from, and you can also use store coupons and discounts! You will still get the percentage of cash back they are offering for that store. Oh, and Ebates increases percentages of cash back (at times, doubles!) periodically and on special shopping days. Keep it in mind when you are doing your holiday shopping! It can really help you save money and feel less like you’re spending your entire lifesavings on Christmas gifts, and it is kind of exciting receiving the check in the mail! Lastly, download the mobile app, which sometimes has special offers that are app-only.
That’s what’s up for now! Have you used Ebates before for online shopping? Take the poll below! Thanks!
